Privacy Policy

MangaLens ("we", "our", "the extension") is a Chrome extension that translates manga pages into English. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

• Email address — collected when you sign in with Google. Stored in our database to identify your account.
• Google authentication token — stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.session) to authenticate translation requests. Cleared when the browser closes.
• Translation count — we record how many pages you have translated per day for usage tracking. This is tied to your account.
• Manga images — images from the page you are reading are sent to our backend for translation. Images are processed and returned; they are not stored.

What we do not collect

• Browsing history or the URLs of pages you visit
• Any data unrelated to the translation feature
• Payment or financial information

Third-party services

Translation uses the Google Cloud Vision API (text detection) and Google Translate. Images and text are sent to these services solely to perform translation. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.

Data sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties, except as required to provide the service (Google APIs above) or as required by law.

Data retention

Your email address and usage data are retained while your account is active. You can request deletion by emailing hello@manga-lens.com.
